I have known the Edelen family since I was in elementary school! Courtney’s big sister Heather was one of my dearest friends growing up, when Courtney was a little babe! It was so sweet when they reached out to me asking if I could photograph her and her friends for their senior prom, and also made me realize my age a little bit haha. The girls were getting ready when I arrived, getting their makeup and hair done by the amazing Kristen C. Artistry. (Check her out!) While I was grabbing detail shots of Courtney’s gorgeous prom dress, Denise and her family were setting the table getting ready to serve a gorgeous plate of food that was catered from Silver Skewers. Ya’ll, if you haven’t had Silver Skewers yet, GO – their chicken and veggies are to die for and they’re located right in Waldorf!

Once we all ate and were ready to go we all hopped in the party bus and jammed our way to the National Harbor where we finished off their portraits on the roof top setting at MGM. The sunset was absolutely gorgeous and to top it off, the ground full of rocks was ALL white. If you don’t already know, white surfaces create the most beautiful reflector of light. So in other words, I was really excited and knew the light was going to be incredible as soon as I saw it! And I was so not wrong.

Courtney and her friends all looked absolutely stunning in their gowns, and I have no doubt that they continued to have one of the best nights together once my time with them came to an end. Thank you all for allowing me to tag along and capture your sweet moments together, you all looked stunning!
