Crystal + Mark will be welcoming their precious baby boy, Grayson Owen, at the end of July and I just know little Gannon is going to be the best big brother!

This lovely bunch lives all the way in North Carolina, but Crystal was having her surprise baby shower here in good ol’ Southern Maryland with her family. It was perfect timing and perfect weather to schedule their maternity session while these guys were in town!

I’ve actually had the chance to work with Crystal before for a session she had with her beautiful cousins last fall, but this was the first time I got to meet Mark and Gannon. I can just tell how much these two love each other and how fun filled their relationship is!

We walked the whole property finding some gorgeous backdrops to compliment Crystal’s gorgeous gowns and I was LOVING what we were getting! Fast forward to the end of their session when we were all getting in our cars and then it hit me……”where are my keys?” ….

Crystal, Mark and Gannon headed out after I began emptying out my camera bag, like the whole dang thing, multiple times before I realized there was a pretty good chance they fell out of my bag during their session. You know, the session I spent an hour walking around MILES of property…yep, that one.

So you’re probably wondering what my next step was once I knew I was doomed. Welp, the best thing I knew to do was 1. Retrace my steps and walk the entire property until I found my keys in the tall grass and 2. Get on Instagram and make fun of my life because well, what else was I supposed to do? Of course I then had to make a phone call to my grandma who was expecting me for coffee and a hangout sesh in the next 10 minutes to then explain I’m a ditz and lost my keys somewhere on the property. She laughed and wished me luck, even offered to come pick up my camera gear for me so I wouldn’t have to continue to lug it around.

I want to also point out that this entire time I was calling Michael, which it later turns out he was cutting the grass and didn’t feel his phone go off. 55 minutes later…okay wait…FIFTY FIVE MINUTES LATER I found them.

Michael finally got back to me and did not hesitate to grab my spare, jump in the truck and be on his way to me, even though we live 35 minutes away from where I was (bless his heart forreal). He asked if I was absolutely positive I checked everywhere in my bag since I’d been searching for so long with no such luck. So I searched one last time and you guys..THERE IS A HIDDEN POCKET I NEVER KNEW EXISTED!

I actually fell over in the grass from laughing so hard. So long story short, and the moral of the story is I’m a hot mess and that I also need to be more thorough when I misplace things hahaha.

So to conclude this long and hilarious blog post – I want to send the biggest congratulations to Crystal + Mark, you two are going to be such wonderful parents to Grayson!
